CALL FOR PARTICIPATION_INDONESIA 2017

Dear friends, 

Greetings from the International Team of IMCS Pax Romana!

We have the great pleasure to invite you to our international “social immersion and training project” which will take place from 7th to 17th July 2017 in Ende, Flores island Indonesia.

The Training Session…

The theme of the meeting is “Students in Solidarity: Reaching peripheries through Social Immersion and training on Human Rights and Social Justice” and will cover three key domains:

  • capacity building on social justice, human rights and solidarity;
  • analysis of the root causes of poverty in the region that “push” people to migrate;
  • social immersion and solidarity work (renovation of two school buildings, donation of supplies to needy children, water supply).

The session will bring together 60 students from all over the world in order to gain practical experience in a multicultural environment on the socialization and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 6, 8).

Within the IMCS mission of social justice, the overall goal of this study session is to improve access to education and drinking water in Flores Island while strengthening the theoretical and practical skills of participants. Integral and non-formal education will be used as the basic learning method.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Travel Expenses and Visa

Participants will be responsible for booking their tickets (either by themselves or with the support of their university/organization).

Local organizers will issue invitation letters that should facilitate visa delivery, in order to attend the conference.

Venue and Accommodation

The meeting will take place in Ende, Flores Island in Indonesia. Accommodation and meals will be provided by the organizers.

 Participation fee

Participants do not have to pay participation fees. However, they are asked to contribute financially within their means towards the solidarity fund which has been created to support the schools’ renovation works, water supply as well as students travelling from developing countries.

Chaplains who wish to participate in this activity are asked to pay a participation fee of USD 50.

Working Languages

The working languages will be English, French and Spanish.

To apply for this activity, you should submit the Application Form online. The deadline for receiving the applications is the 31st May 2017.

Note: (In any case), financial matters should not be a reason for non-participation. If you need financial assistance to book your ticket, please fill the request for financial support form before 30th April 2017.
